Hello friends! Sometimes, at the oddest moments, I'll get an idea in my head for a new design and I just have to get my notepad out and figure out the pattern for it. Well, a couple of days ago, I had one of those moments and with out delay, I sat down to start working on a new little kitty. I know it's cheesy, and I couldn't resist, but please meet Flora the Explorer!! Isn't she sweet?
As usual, I've used hand woven felt to make her body, shoes and suitcase, and a pretty floral cotton print for her dress. She's a quite a bit bigger than most of my animals and measures just over 6 inches tall. Her dress and shoes are removable and I've made embroidered 'travel stickers' which I've appliqued onto her case. I just love this little girl and I hope you do too! Her pattern is now available in my shop.
Flora is easy to make and would be the perfect companion to take along on a nice long journey - after all, she loves adventures!!
Have a wonderful week:)

Can't wait for that pattern to come out soon!! If you change the pattern a bit, I'm sure you can make it into a wonderful horse/pony with you wonderful skill, just as this Flora the Explorer!!!! I can imagine it, the pony being pretty in pink or lavender \^.^/ and use the eyelash yarns for the mane as the hair...

ReplyDeleteO my goodness! This is going to be a gushy comment, but I just adore everything you do!!!! You are sooo super-talented. I love than your Mom and Nan have passed talent on down to you. Do you have a shop where you sell things all-made-up? And how did you get interested in the Blythe dolls?? I've just fallen in love with them, but don't have one yet.... Where do you find all of the information to know everything Blythe??? Flora the kitten is so sweet, but each little darling you make has incredible detail. I'm going to follow your blog and check out all of your shops. I *heart* everything!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI adore you and your precious dolls!!! I wish I had your talent, you have really inspired me to learn to sew!
ReplyDeleteI made a blogentry about you (its in swedish tho) and I borrowed some of the pictures from your Etsy-site. I hope thats ok! Please tell me if you dont approve and I will remove it instantly.
I know, Cecilia! Doesn't your heart just *swell* looking at all of her goodies??!!
DeleteThanks so much everyone! I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to reply to this post - I've been super busy for the last couple of weeks and have also been feeling a bit under the weather for the last few days.
ReplyDeleteBut, on a brighter note, I'm noticing buds on the trees and tiny shoots are poking their little heads out of the ground! Just can't wait for Spring:)
hugs,
~Shelly
